Jury duty cancellation
Jury duty is cancelled at 9 a.m. Monday, Dec. 17, in Judge Craig Estlinbaum’s 130th Judicial District Court.
Markham PTO
The Markham PTO will have a chicken spaghetti dinner from 5 to 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17. The dinner with dessert will be $7 a plate. The holiday program starts at 6:30 p.m. Call (979) 843-5015 for more information.
Sargent Library Open House
The Sargent Library will have a Christmas open house next week. It will be during their regular hours which are: Tuesday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Thursday and Friday, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.; and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Tidehaven FFA
Tidehaven FFA will celebrate 30 years of excellence by inviting all current and former members to their meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17, in the Tidehaven High School cafeteria. Cake and drinks will be served. Also, bring canned goods for the annual Tidehaven FFA canned food drive.

Bethlehem Christmas
The First Presbyterian Church in Bay City will have its annual Bethlehem Christmas, a live nativity scene set in the town of Bethlehem.
The church will host a drive-through Christmas Story from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 18 and 19.
December 19
Economic Action Committee
The Economic Action Committee of the Gulf Coast will have its annual senior citizens luncheon at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, at the Bay City Service Center, 2105 Ave. M.
December 21
Hospital Blood Drive
There will be a blood drive from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, in the Matagorda General Hospital lobby. Call 241-6382 for appointments. Walk-ins are welcome.
December 22
Palacios Market Days
Palacios Market Days will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, at Railroad Park. The theme is last-minute gifts and unique items.

Daughters In Progress
The Daughters In Progress Club will have its 40th annual dinner theater at 5 p.m. Saturday. Dec. 22, at the Matagorda County Fairgrounds Multipurpose Building. Donations are $10.
